Artist’s Talk by Virginia Lee Montgomery

WEST RUTLAND, VT- Sculptor and video artist Virginia Lee Montgomery will be Artist in Residence at the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center for the month of July 2018. Ms. Montgomery, who currently divides her time between New York City and Houston, Texas, received her MFA from Yale University. She works freely between sculpture and video to materialize philosophical ideas about memory, materiality and time.

Recently, the artist has become enamored with the moon, and intends to develop a “Marble Moon” project while at the CSSC, combining sculpture and experimental art video. Virginia Lee Montgomery will present her methods and aesthetic in a public Artist’s Talk on Wednesday, July 18 at 7 PM.
