The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center announces the opening reception for an exhibition of work by Bill Wolff on Saturday, July 9, 2016 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The sculpture will be on display at the CSSC Gallery at 636 Marble Street through August 21.
Bill Wolff has degrees in Sculpture from Binghamton University, Louisiana State University, Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music and Tokyo University of the Arts. While in Japan, he studied the traditional yosegi zukuri process which influenced his work in wood, carved, hollowed and assembled from sections of trees. His “gestural, fragmented and biomorphic abstractions poignantly reflect both beauty and a sense of potential [environmental] loss.” www.billwolff.net
