SculptFest 2018, Interdependence (Opening Reception on Sept. 8)

An exciting group of artists will present sculptural and video installations for SculptFest2018 at the Carving Studio and Sculpture Center. The opening reception for the annual exhibition is scheduled for 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Saturday, September 8. Proposals were submitted in response to this year’s theme of “Interdependence.” Guest curator Alisa Dworsky selected site-specific works by artists Charles Hickey, Amy Königbauer, Sophia Latysheva, Jessica Leete and Nathaniel Lieb collaborating with Eva Schmidt. Also chosen, Susan Maas, Indigo Naar, Sayward Schoonmaker, Lynn Sullivan and Sam Talbot-Kelly.
The opening reception is free and open to the public, featuring performance, music by the Harry Drum Trio, refreshments and the annual Fine Art Raffle drawing. SculptFest2018 closes October 21. 2018 ANNUAL MEETING
Our Annual Meeting will be held the next day on Sunday, September 9 at 3:00 PM. This is a great time to meet the Trustees, review the 2018 program highlights and share ideas! Guest speaker Amy Cunningham of the Vermont Arts Council will discuss the role of the arts in vibrant, sustainable communities. The Annual Meeting will take place in the CSSC Main Building at 636 Marble Street, West Rutland, Vermont, with refreshments for attendees.
