Chains and Carved Pendant Fabrication
June 26, 2017 - June 30, 2017
This workshop will introduce the student to the versatility of making several chains with copper, brass and silver wire without soldering. Participants will also learn how to make a hand carved marble pendant and fabricate a metal form for setting the piece as the final project. Basic sawing, filing, soldering and finishing techniques will be demonstrated and achieved by the end of the workshop. A brief history of jewelry and metalsmithing (including jump rings, the Idiot’s Delight chain, and Baroque Rosary chaining) will be presented throughout the workshop. No experience is necessary for this workshop.
