NEW Controlled chaos, beautiful accidents, exquisite decay
August 5, 2016 - August 7, 2016| Register: $325
This course invites participants to assemble found and created objects—rocks, twigs, old broken toys and furniture, cardboard, paper, fabric—detritus and memorabilia—into new three-dimensional configurations. We will look at the aesthetics of the Japanese Wabi-Sabi tradition and at the art works of Joseph Cornell, Picasso, Duchamp and Louise Nevelson who transformed, or better put, transmuted found objects into art. We will begin to see the world fluidly as “grist” for our creative visions and find the magician, the grandmaster of transformation, residing within each of us.
