Copper: Forms in Nature  (3-day workshop)

March 2, 2018

With an emphasis on organic forms in nature, we will explore inventive methods and approaches to fabricating with copper sheeting. Copper is a soft material that can be shaped into simple and complex forms. The techniques will include pattern-making, cutting, forming, oxy-acetylene with silver solder, cold connecting and stamping.

Sheet construction and fabrication is fundamental to many sculpture practices, as it is the gateway to building sculpture of all sizes with various hard and soft materials. This course is intended for students on multiple levels as each person will build on their individual skillset for making sculpture.
