NEW Decoy Carving
September 27, 2014 - September 28, 2014| Register: $295
During this two day workshop, we will work on carving and painting a half scale Common Loon. Starting with planks of Vermont Basswood from Linden trees individual decorative decoys will be created. Using Gary’s patterns, participants will create a sculpture using knives and other carving tools. These birds will then be painted to reflect individual uniqueness. Gary’s style is derived from growing up with over 2000 decoys in his home and many years of birding.
Gary will share knowledge gained from his 57 years of carving birds in helping you create your own carving in your newly acquired style. We are looking forward to an enjoyable weekend for beginner and intermediate wood carvers. All materials will be provided with a suggested list of tools for later use.
