October 8, 2016 - October 9, 2016| Register: $325
Glass is a beautiful and fragile material to work. It can remarkably imitate any of the plastic mediums even most metals but nothing can duplicate glass. In sculpture glass is frequently used with other materials for incredible details and beauty. Now is your chance to learn some of its techniques and tricks; its properties and its challenges. And now is your chance to make parts for other works of sculpture or stand-alone projects of glass alone.
In this workshop we will learn the physical needs of glass and its proper handling and annealing principals, so we can take a kiln and create something amazing from ordinary glass. We will create the ideas for a sculptural work, design a form, and follow through to its completion using glass cutting, fusing, and slumping equipment.
