The wood sculpture of Donna Dodson celebrates the mystical relationship between human beings and the animal kingdom. A solo exhibition entitled “Pillars of the Community” will be installed at The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center Gallery at 259 Marble Street, West Rutland and run from July 11-August 24, 2014.
Inspired by ancient Eygptian art and Native American totems, Ms Dodson explores the power dynamics of feminine beauty and emotional strength. “ My artwork is about self expression, autobiography, and self redemption”. Originally from California, Ms. Dodson graduated from Wellesley College and is an active member of the Boston Sculptor’s Gallery. Her art work is part of several local and international collections.
The opening reception will be held on Friday, July 11th from 5 to 7 p.m. and is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays, 1 to 4 PM or by appointment. For more information, 802-438-2097 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
