GOWRI SAVOOR is a British-Indian visual artist currently living and working in Vermont. Her practice is composed of sculpture, painting and works on paper. She is dedicated to her teaching and bringing art to the community, and believes passionately in the power of participatory, community art events. She has been a teaching artist for over 17 years and is the co-founder and artistic director of Vermont’s River of Light Lantern Parade. Her lantern-making residencies, culminating in celebratory, after-dark processional events, are popular statewide, regionally and internationally.
