KATE KATOMSKI is a multi-media artist and educator whose inter-disciplinary experience includes sculpture, printmaking, performance, video and installation. She received a BFA in Ceramics with a minor in Textiles from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA (1985). She received a MFA in Studio Art at Maine College of Art, Portland ME (2002).
Katomski has exhibited her work throughout the United States including the Knoxville Museum of Art, E. Tennessee Museum of History in Knoxville, TN; The Kitchen Art Gallery, New York, NY; Carving Studio and Sculpture Center Gallery, W. Rutland, VT; Shelburne Farm, Burlington City Arts, VT; A.I.R. Gallery II, New York, NY; the Pelham Art Center, Pelham, NY.
She has taught at Southern Maine Community College, S. Portland, ME; The New School for Social Research, New York, NY; Sculpture Center, New York, NY; and Columbia Preparatory School, New York, NY. She was awarded the Ovid Or Weiss professional grant (2009), MCAT grant (2003), and ESCA grant (1990). Kate Katomski is a native of New York and currently lives in Portland, Maine with her husband, Judd Mulkerin. They have done collaborative projects since 2003.
