Marsha Pels has received a BFA from The Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA from Syracuse University. She has been a recipient of a NYC Public Art Fund grant, a Prix de Rome, a Fulbright Scholar grant, a Pollock-Krasner grant and a Gottlieb grant. Ms.Pels has lectured and taught widely throughout the United States and Europe, as well as consistently shown and been reviewed since 1981. The most recent article about her sculpture was in April 2013 by Karen Wilkin: SCULPTURE Vol.32 No.3 “Drastic Alterations and Transformations”. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor at The College of Staten Island and lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
