Acanthus Wood Design/Carve: Sept 14 & 15

Acanthus leaves are historically the most important design element. Seen for thousands of years on Corinthian columns, architecture, furniture, books, currency and more. Students will have the opportunity to design acanthus scrolls and leaves in wood. These skills will translate into the ability to carve beautiful three dimensional plaques. This class is a must for anyone interested in classical design. Students can bring their own carving tools if they wish, or use the studio's tools.
