Flora and Fauna in Copper: Jul 22-26

The workshop is an opportunity to explore design and fabrication starting with creating a pattern  then choosing the techniques to use including raising, sinking, chasing, planishing, annealing, silver soldering, riveting, cold forging, and texturing using different gauges of sheet copper and wire.  Ben will talk about tools that he designed and created in studio to make some of his most popular pieces and how to find sources for materials.

This workshop is a wonderful way to spend a few days with family or friends, have fun, and try something new.  By Thursday you will have created something beautiful and be comfortable using the tools of the trade, even if you have never tried metalsmithing before.

Ben is a nationally known metalsmith and fine artist who exhibits in art shows and galleries all over the country and has been featured in many national publications including Southern Living, Cottage Journal, Garden & Gun, Oprah Magazine, Town & Country magazine, Glass on Metal magazine, along with many others.
