Ins and Outs of Concave and Convex: June 13-14

A two-day intermediate workshop that will introduces participants to the push-pull and the in-out that is concave-convex stone carving. This course is excellent for intermediate level participants who want to expand their knowledge of working with marble, stone tools, and carving techniques. Participants will learn to incorporate negative and positive space in their sculpture by piercing into and through the stone using hammer drills, coring machines, diamond saws, grinding discs, and wet polishers. Use of the Studio’s tools and a moderate piece of Vermont marble are included in the fee.
