Intro Stone Carving: May 23-24

A two-day immersive workshop introducing participants to stone, tools, techniques, and the art of stone carving. This course is an excellent introduction for a person interested in working with marble or intermediate level participants who want to expand their knowledge. Examples of topics discussed include what stone is good for carving, carving techniques of the past, use of hand tools, power tools, pneumatics and how to source them, as well as answering your burning questions about how to put the finishing touches on you soon to be completed sculpture. Use of the Studio’s tools and a moderate piece of Vermont marble are included in the fee.
