Introduction to Japanese Garden - Approaches to Space, Stone and Mind: Aug. 9 & 10
This two-day workshop introduces participants to traditional and contemporary Japanese garden practices, including concepts around space and aesthetics that help support well-being in everyday life. The course offers a combination of short lectures to introduce a variety of Japanese garden designs paired with a beginner stone carving workshop. Students will create a simple tsukubai ⎯ a stone water basin for their own garden. It is an excellent opportunity to expose yourself to stone works while exploring how a garden can create opportunities for a well-lived life.
