Paper Mask Making: October 18-19

In this two-day workshop participants will explore how paper transforms from a 2-D page to a unique sculptural mask. A variety of paper manipulation techniques, such as rolling, scoring, and the use of slots and tabs, will be taught and practiced. Let your imagination sore as you experience the joy of bringing a face to life from a conceptual sketch to a final product. After making your mask, apply one of several colorful surface treatments to highlight the texture of your creation. Then, decide if your mask will become a piece of wearable art or left as a beautiful wall-hanging sculpture. Have you got a character in mind? Make your idea a reality, and come and learn how faces have never been so fun!
